# The cross redefines what God is What sort of God dies on a cross? The question is the point: the crucifixion is not an event that happens to an already-known God but the event that redefines what "God" means. Power, sovereignty and victory all have to be re-read backwards from a dying man. Any theology whose God could not die on a cross is describing a different god.
