# God underwrites relational risk Faith in God allows you to take risks on weak human reckoning; God is the guarantee that makes risk in relationship rational. That is why the early church could hold such diversity: members did not need full assurance from each other because the guarantee sat elsewhere. Trust in God functions as relational venture capital, underwriting bonds that prudence alone would never form.
